Diane Darcy-Schmidt

Hi, I’m Diane Darcy-Schmidt, the founder and travel advisor behind Platinum events & travel. With twenty years of experience in hospitality and travel management, I help busy professionals, couples, and groups take the stress out of planning unforgettable vacations. I specialize in cruising and offer a wide range of options including family-friendly getaways, adult-only escapes, scenic river cruises, and once-in-a-lifetime expedition voyages. While cruising is my main focus, I also love creating custom itineraries for European travel and exploration.

I launched Platinum events & travel in 2005 in New Jersey as an event planning firm. After leaving the hotel world, I expanded into travel planning and eventually made it my full-time passion. Since 2017, I’ve been based in Denver, NC, where I focus on crafting personalized, meaningful travel experiences. My clients count on me for thoughtful planning, tailored recommendations, and a smooth, enjoyable booking process from start to finish.

As an independent advisor, I bring insider knowledge, strong industry relationships, and a genuine love for travel to each itinerary I design. I take the time to understand what my clients truly want from their vacation so I can create experiences that reflect their style and exceed their expectations. I’m a proud member of both ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) and CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association), and I’m currently working toward my Accredited Cruise Counselor certification through CLIA.

Outside of work, I’m usually planning my own adventures around the world. I’m heading to Japan in July 2025 and always have something new on the horizon. I also enjoy binging the latest TV shows. I’m currently loving Shrinking, even if I’m a little late to it. And as a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan, I can’t wait for the season to start. Ask me where I’m traveling next.
