After obtaining an undergraduate degree in accountancy from South Carolina’s Wofford College, David earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. During his legal education, David worked with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. David is a certified mediator in the Circuit Court of South Carolina and is certified to practice law in the Federal District Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. David is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers Association, and the Lancaster County Bar Association. He also serves as a business law professor at the University of South Carolina, Lancaster Campus.
Community involvement and service have always played a large role in David’s life. He's enjoyed coaching soccer and served on a local board for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He served as mayor of Kershaw and has been very involved in a variety of boards and foundations. Today, David is the founder of Justice4Kids, which is an organization that provides food for children on weekends, that would otherwise go without until the following school week. Justice4Kids is also a sponsor in community athletics, and provides recreation league coaches with funds for the children to have access to the proper equipment. In addition, he is also helping with Indian Land High School’s first ever Mock Trial team.
